Eliza Naranjo Morse’s Flow Funding Story

Earth is the most beautiful expression of relationship and transformation. Every connection we make to our natural world is a witness to life forces all working together.

Like so many animals, Stars and Seeds grantees possess incredible navigational tools for being in relationship with life. These are women centering within place and seasons, meeting the challenges of transformation to continue being in loving relationship with the Earth. These women are observant, capable, and perseverant. They carry tools for our survival. To fund them is to nourish and encourage them forward.

Flow funding is really intentional and emotional work. We go through careful consideration for how funds may contribute to the healthiest Earth relationship possible, and we go through the ache of declining many women whose efforts are important additions to this healing.

I believe in flow funding as a tool for recentering relationship in our world. It acknowledges that many hands are required to do the best work possible and that all of them assist with particular expertise. The effort becomes more capable, vibrant, and sustainable with as many people as possible involved.

It is a powerful healing when donors who share Earth-centered values trust women of New Mexico to help make choices about where money should go. We are women who spend our decades participating in the local methods, traditions and daily activities that express how to be in a life of relationship, and our days meeting the challenges of mending the damage of thinking that we are not all connected.

Stars and Seeds models an opportunity for clearing the path of relationship between humans and all life. In this work I witness that relationship and transformation is possible because we see so many women who have been seeking this path all along while bringing their communities with them on this journey.
